Camp Counselor · Summer 2027

Camp Birch Hill, an all-gender overnight camp for ages 6–16 on a pond in New Durham, New Hampshire, is hiring camp counselors for summer 2027. Counselors share a cabin with a co-counselor and 6–10 campers and teach classes in their skill areas.

Counselors supervise campers with a priority on health and wellness, give social and emotional support to their cabin, and teach classes such as adventure, waterfront, arts, theater, land sports or nature studies. Campers choose from more than 50 electives, and the camp has a high ropes course, theater, sports fields, tennis courts and a sandy waterfront. 2027 employment runs June 18 – August 7, including 9 days of pre-camp training. Applicants must be 18, have finished 12th grade by the start of employment, be available the entire season and pass a criminal background check. The camp prioritizes experience in belaying and climbing, lifeguarding (or willingness to take the course), music, circus skills, horses, archery, sailing, photography, martial arts or lacrosse. Counselors get at least a couple of hours off each day and 24 hours off once a week. Pay is listed at $3,000 per season plus tips.
